KfW funding for your EV Charger

According to German Transport Minister Volker Wissing, a new subsidy program for private EV chargers will be available from autumn 2023 - in combination with solar systems and energy storage. Private households are to be financially supported in the construction of charging stations with their own power supply. The funding includes charging stations, photovoltaic systems and battery storage in private residential buildings, provided that an electric car is also available or ordered. Further information can be found on the websites of the Federal Ministry of Transport and the KfW Bank.

In some German federal states there are funding programs for companies and private individuals to support the development of charging infrastructure:

  • Current information on funding opportunities in North Rhine-Westphalia can be found here (in German).
  • The requirements for funding in Baden-Württemberg can be found here (in German).
Some energy suppliers and municipalities are also promoting the transfer to electromobility. Before you buy your EV charger, find out which funding options apply in your state/community, etc.
