The DCW 2004 B remote power inserter with integrated sequential control is designed for convenient remote powering of SP and MHP series preamplifiers via the coaxial cable, as well as for the delayed switching of RF linear amplifiers. The integrated sequential control reliably prevents sensitive preamplifiers from being damaged by RF peaks during switching operations. For the control of external devices, the DCW 2004 B provides three switching outputs with increasing delay times. In addition to linear amplifiers, other components such as transverters can therefore be activated in a defined sequence.
The DCW 2004 B supports SP and MHP series preamplifiers. The PTT switching input accepts switching to ground or +5 to +12 V. Preamplifiers and power amplifiers can be switched on or off independently as required. When operating with an RF power amplifier, the integrated PTT switching output provides a defined delayed activation of the amplifier stage. This ensures that the preamplifier is switched off before high transmit power is applied. After power-up, the remote power inserter automatically performs a short-circuit test of the preamplifier feed line. The unit always starts with the previously selected operating state (Last State Function).
