The significantly increased demand for low-loss coaxial cables that fulfill all relevant requirements regarding flame resistance and low emissions in case of fire, lead to the development of Ecoflex cables with Heatex coating. Ecoflex cables with Heatex coating are hardly inflammable and offer a low fire propagation. Heatex-coats are halogen-free, low-smoke and include no reaction-friendly elements like Fluorine, Chlorine and Bromine.
Standard coaxial cables with PVC-coating (Polyvinylchlorid) are not halogen-free and hence not applicable in hazardous environments. PVC cables are also critical regarding possible fire propagation in cases of fire.
